I've been pumping out a lot of threads lately. This is because, I've been sick, with nothing else to do, and I talk to myself exitedly every day, and sometimes, I make sense. I don't do a lot of fucking THINKING. The thinking happens as I write. To write help me think, line out something fuzzy, like a feeling, and straighten it out to something I can remember clearly.

So, I was talking exitedly to the wall yesterday, and I ended up talking about, how much it sucks to learn new things.

Because, I don't know about you guys, but to ME, it fucking sucks.

"Ohh, I looove learning new things"
- I DON*T BUY THAT BULLSHIT.

Learning new stuff, totally new things, is like keep on throwing shit at the wall, and hope that SOMETHING sticks, so you can build upon that. Once something sticks upon the wall, then the fun might emerge. Otherwise, it's just like going into a room, when the lights are out. You just keep pushing in there, even though you don't know shit.

This is why I didn't like to study math. Because, at the university, EVERY WEEK, we learnt something absolutely new, so you were CONSTANTLY in the dark room. All year, you were throwing shit at the wall "Oh God, please let something stick there".

It's when the fundamentals are there, that the fun begins. When the fundamentals are SO STRONG, that you can own what you're learning, just a little bit, by just having strong fundamentals, this is where the fun starts. Say, learning a new football trick, if you're into football. Learning a new song, if you're into playing instruments. Learning a few new words if you're learning a language.

By the way, to learn a language, by jumping on an airplane, and arriving at a place where no-one speaks YOUR language, THIS is the ULTIMATE throwing of shit upon the wall. ALL DAY, ALL AROUND YOU, people throw shit, and even at night, your brain will be so fucked up with all the shit, that you will dream in that language, even if you don't understand it. And you wake up tired. Is this fun? FUCK NO. Learning new shit, is an uphill battle. It has ALWAYS been that way for me. ALWAYS. Going out to the kitchen to cook, when I decided I wanted to be vegetarian.

However, the fun part is having fun with the shit you already know. Refining the knowlage you have. Branching out, from what you have, to learn something new from there.

So that's what I figured out. That's what I'm gonna do.

In medschool, we were also constantly learning new shit. I remember when we went through embryology (the first stages of making a kid), and the teacher literally SPEWED words at us for TWO hours. After the first 20, my brain fried, I had forgotten the first one long since. But the teacher just kept going. Throwing shit at the wall.

And I notice, now, that a lot of the things that I learned, they are already gone. And I think this is becaues I didn't enjoy it. I didn't take the time to play around with the stuff I've learned. Make games out of it. Try to paint the different muscles. Challange myself about the knowlage I have, to tweak it. To refine it. This is the fun process after all, the initial learning have already been done.

So that's one thing I'm gonna do once I'm back at medschool. And something I will start with now. I will play around with the knowlage I have, learn it, make games of it, and I will continue to do this with new stuff that I learn.
