In my current university I need a code with x numbers of big and small letters, x numbers, must be exactly y long, and I need to change it twice a year. WTF is up with that?
My student card required a password with exactly 6 letters. No less. No more.
I get randomized passwords for my bankcards.
First time ever I really screwed it up was last week when I managed to get both my VISAs blocked. This in addition to having no mobile phone since a week made me feel quite naked. "WTF will I do?" I had to get into a club, a friend was waiting for me there, I had no money, and I couldn't call him. Begging in the streets didn't help. "But I need to get into the club!"
I had to actually run home, beg from my corridormates, run back again... (I paid the entry fee with 1KR coins, which is about 1/6 dollar. That was fun.)
It's just sick man, let me pick my own frigging passwords. "No, your password must consist of two words, a verb and a noun!"(followed by 3,5 numbers, where the fourth number alternates between the number you wrote, and half the value of the number you wrote every other time you log in.)
This is frustrating enough for me to write a spam thread about it, it's more than shout-box irritating.

Bleh quit your belly aching  ... I have to remember passwords for 10 servers, 30 clients, a million (exaggerated but still lol...more like 50-100 total) websites, each with different stipulations. Basically, password must be at least 6 characters long consisting of alpha-numeric characters, at least 1 symbol, at least 1 capital letter, and you must not repeat more than 1 character, no more than 3 characters in a previous password, and you cannot reuse any password used in the previous 15 changes (does that make sense? lol). Of course we're not allowed to use words, so it must be a bunch of randomized shit lol. That and some change every 30 days, some 60 days, etc. And they don't all change at the same time lol. And all of this on top of remembering my own passwords to pay bills, bank accounts, personal/work email accounts blah blah blah lol. All I have to say is that if you have difficulty remembering it, use this http://passwordsafe.sourceforge.net/. |
