Hey gents!
I made this topic in an effort to know each other better since the community is spanning. Here you can post values, famous quotes or phrases in general that play a key role in your life and in your everyday relationships. What motivates you to go on,what describes best your philosophy.
Ok,i'll start then.

"Trust no one"-I've learned this the hard way.The world is filled with trecheary.

"Justice is blind"-This is so f^&*ing obvious.Just take a look around.

"The ends justify the means"-I know this phrase is a synonym to political cruelty but sometimes it really helps.Stick to the cause for greater justice.

"If you want something to be done,do it yourself"-If you rely on others, eventually they will let you down.

I'm waiting for your replies...

Lesse:

"With your best intentions at heart, people will always hold more love for those that act, than those that does not" - Thieves and Kings (best comic ever, and the only one I read.)

"STOP TAKING EVERYTHING SO FUCKIN SERIOUSLY" -The_reverend/Sparrisen/Toy/bunbun/

"Know what you want and ask the universe for it." Law of Attraction, The Secret.

"WWTD - What Would Tyler Do?"

"Results stem from repeated, consistent effort" - The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari, to be compared by:

"Habit is All" -Book of Pook, Pook.

"Do you care about PEOPLE or do you care about what they think of YOU?" Eckardt Tolle. Blessed be thee.

"Stop putting things in the future, the future is always in the future. What you CAN change is NOW." Eckardt Tolle. Blessed be thee.

"A man CAN change his stars" - quote from A Knight's Tale.

"Those who matter don't care, and those that care don't matter" - Be yourself as fully as possible.

"Happiness based externally will always elude you" Having "it all" is a great foundation for depression.

"You're not your fuckin khakis"

OFC, lay off the supreficial BS.

"She feels what you feel" - Very useful quote. Say you think she's smokin' and you don't hesitate to show it.

This is just a very short list. I've got tons of these.

I think:
"Justice is blind" contradicts "The ends justify the means". At least how you described it.

"If you rely on others, eventually they will let you down." I love this one. Be a man. Know what you want and make it happen.

"Trust no one" is a selffullfilling prophecy to me. As in "What you expect, projects".

"Justice is blind" is a general statement believed to be true.Since i accept this statement,it's automatically a part of my philosophy.BECAUSE Justice is blind, radical solutions and measurements  are needed. Thus,I also belive that ends justify the means. In order for Justice to see the righteous light,we must put aside some of our beliefs(about human rights) and impose strict penalties and investigative proccedures.
With that in mind,i do belive that the above statements are not contradicting each other.

Here is another belief of mine.
"There is no fate than what we make"-Sarah Connor

This is simply epic! There is no such thing as destiny and fate.We are not set on a predetermined path we must follow. We make our own "fate" everyday with the decisions we take. And that's the best part:you have total control over your life.

That is a very wise line to follow. It can actually be found in christianity and buddhism as well. The way you put it, though, fits better in the current secular world we live in. One of the basic teachings of buddhism is that life is suffering, and craving is the cause of this. The less you crave for, the less you suffer.

This is not a thread for arguing beliefs, I know that, but since so many has posted beliefs like: "Expect nothing" "The less you hope for, the less you suffer" and that type of thing I wish to point out a different point of view. Coming from a "LIFE SUCKS" angle, these views are great indeed because they will let life screw with you and you're still unaffected by it. But for instance:

Case of the buddhist was brought up. While they have a lot of sound beliefs, simply being a buddhist does not mean being superior, since frankly, the average hardcore buddhist will accomplish nothing in his life. Death is his purpose, and he prepares for that rather than enjoying life.

Then we have the case of "The less you hope for...". Hope builds dreams. Dreams let's you set goals you can work towards to accomplish what you want in life. WHAT IS ESSENTIAL THOUGH, is to NOT make your happiness dependant on those dreams, because even if you reach those goals, they will not be enough to make you happy in themselves. Happiness must come from you by accepting what, and who you are and the situation you're in. The only way out of a shitty situation is to accept it and work with it. In a accident, most people freeze up being totally useless. Do they accept the situation or fight it?

"The less you hope for..."

There are people who are more like a force of nature, than men. The main differance is they don't hope, they know. They simply know, thus other will BELIVE in them, and all the way they're happy still, because they will reach their dreams one way or another. It might take time, it might take setbacks, it does not matter, since they know.

Saying "don't hope" is like taking a step back for me, while saying "KNOW it will happen" is like taking a step forwards. One makes you a satisfied victim and another let's you take control of your life.

Also, "Don't hope" kinda says you expect life to be a bitch, and "Know" says life will be what *you* decide it to be. This need not be the case of course, but often life becomes what you believe it will become. Light joyful people will attract other light joyful people. Pissed off people is even more pissed off when they can be so together. And having what you want is NOT a prerequisite (I can't believe this word is spelled right) for being happy. Generally, we in the western world are more unhappy than those that have *nothing*.

EDIT: Ya, everything I do is in accordance with my dreams and goals: Check these out, my mindmaps, I look at them every day:

And while doing so, you have to listen to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JpJjsHgYHA or you will clogg my personal shakras with negative energy.
