World Breaker Story.
The Prometheus Project was to be a new beginning. It was to be the first step on the road to a better world. Mankind’s first tentative steps into the unknown, the colonisation of space. Smashing atoms and using that energy to power The Great Machine. No one quite understood what the Great Machine was. Some said it was a Time Machine, others a faster than lightspeed engine. In the end it was nothing more than the power of chaos in the hands of children. The screams of a mad god whispered in the ear of genius.
September 3rd 2008 will always be a day etched on the minds of Raven platoon. It was the day we saw the sun for the last time, felt its heat upon our faces. The day we breathed the fresh air of planet Earth one last time. Science until it is put into practice is all theoretic, the results unpredictable and unknown. And for all the Great Machines power and beauty, no one was prepared for what was to come.
It turned out the Great Machine was neither a time machine or a faster than lightspeed drive. The Great Machine was in fact a rift generator. They planned to tear a rift between our earth and the parallel worlds that existed just beyond our reach. To there credit they succeeded. The Great Machine tore a hole in or between dimensions. But everyone and everything within the test sight were drawn through, including the Great Machine.
We found ourselves in a world were Dragons soared amongst the clouds and nightmares strode across the land. A world were all the creatures we dream about or read of in legend existed. A parallel earth of monsters and dark magic.
The Great Machine, the peak of mans scientific achievements. The world of Errath a land of dark magic. No one could predict that the Great machine would be torn apart. No one could predict the sky would catch fire as magic and science collided. No one could forsee the tradgedy to come. Many died in those first days before we could get the replicators online.
We must fight for survival, rebuild the great machine and return home. For we are hated here, hunted and killed. For we are The World Breakers.
Game.
A homage of 2 games that have stuck with me for years. Dawnspire and Spellcross. Game plays similar to Dawnspire, game types can be adapted and tweaked. We have about 7 types at present. Sides consist of
Hammer Support Unit Demon Medic Dark Paladin Sniper Stalker Commandos Dragon Monk Assualt Trooper Vampire
Machine Capture: Similar to RC. We can alter this drastically to accommodate Picking up \machine parts. Each machine part will give of a different effect , due to the science/magic effect on it.
Effects such as Radiation Burns, Radiation Poisoning, Subzero freezing and Magical lightining strike
Core Capture: Get to and hold the Nuclear core of the Great Machine there is only one core. Each team has to try and capture it. You capture it by standing near or next to it. The more people next to it the faster it is captured. 1 point for a capture and 1 point for each 3 minutes they hold on to it. Winning team is first to reach 6 points.
DOUBLE DOMINATION: Same as Core Capture except the teams must cap 2 Cores to score a point and score 1 point for holding them both for each 3 minutes after they cap it.
TEAM DEATHMATCH: Both teams start match with 100/75 points every death costs each team 1 point. Team to lose all there points loses.
Meltdown: The enemy has a nuclear core who's energy they wish to use, you must stop them. Both teams start of in there base they have a Core that holds 1/3 bombs and 1/3 bombs in there base as well. Object of the game is to transport there bombs to the enemy base and place on the oppositions Core. Bombs do half damage to your team and double damage to other team. Once on Core they cannot be removed. Winner is side to have all or most Bombs on enemy Core after 16 minutes.
TITAN: Each team starts at there base with a huge titan with tens of thousands of hit points. These titans start moving towards each other to fight. Object of the game is to defend your titan and attack the enemy titan to take its HP down. Titans cannot be healed. Team which has a titan still standing after they fight wins. Soldiers would have a giant MECH, Others would have a giant version of one of them.
RESCUE: One team attacks one defends. One team starts in there base with a keystone relic. They must transport this relic to each of the key locks at 4 huge gates to open them. Other team spawns at shrine next to gates. Once a gate is opened that shrine then becomes spawn point for attackers and cannot be recaptured. When attackers open last gate they must kill the jailer who is guarding the prisoners to rescue them. Jailers has thousands of HP. Attackers win if they kill Jailer within time limit. Defenders win if they keep jailer alive till end of time limit. Jailer cannot be healed.

Its another game/slant on a way to go. Briniging in Real army to fight the Fantasy characters.

First thing you must do is the design doc building 10 skills for all the characters as part of it I would think. Anyone want to start? if we do start trying to develop this as an idea even for fun maybe new game ideas should kept separate from DS folder and spam.

No it would be new skills that would fit each character. All the Army ones would be things you might get in the real world such as the defribulator to resurrect fallen comrades. A variety of grenades split between the group such as smoke to take less damage, flashbang to blind the enemy and make em miss and frag to do damage. Healing packs instead of healing magic, that we would keep for the fantasy characters.
The army would also wield guns so theyre would be things like shotgun to do damage to multiple enemy and rapid fire for the sub machine gun.
The community could come up with these skills. post suggestions and work out things like cooldown times and damage etc. It will most probably never see the light of day but it's something to work towards.
That is why if people like the idea it should be moved to it's own independent folder were we can work on it more and it won't get lost.

Shouldn't that be if we start seriously making it? I am willing to do my bit as The story and idea testifies but it would be nice if we took one character type at a time and WE worked on the skill set. I am no programmer so I would be ideas and art side of things. Will it get anywhere That's up to the programmers and the rest of you as well.
Come on any one want to help? So come on Ideas People Ideas.
The other beauty of basing it on an Alternative Earth is you don't have do come up with a map of the world as there is already one in existence. You just need to pick different names for the countries or lands you would use.

Class 1 Human
Medic: carries Knife/Pistols
Health Stamina Ammunition.
Skills All skills dependent on level.
1)Medic Bags: Drop these on the ground. When allies move over them they will be healed for a set amount of heal over time. 2)Defibrillator: Use this to revive downed team mates. Can also be used as a shock interuppt on enemy players. 3)Frag: Throw a frag grenade, does set damage to all foes in a set raidius. 4)Point Blank: A series of pistol shots fired at close range for high damage. Dependent on skill level. 5)Patriotism: Increases all teams stamina regeneration if they are in a set area. 6)Antidote: Cures all effects such as poision/radiation burn/bleeding/freezing. 7)Spiderbot: Deploy a spiderbot dron that will chase and attack to enemy before exploding. 8)Duel: wield 2 pistols for double damage for a short period or attack 2 enemies at once. 9)Dash: Move up to 60% faster for a extented period of time. 10)Healing drone:Deploy a healing drone that will heal a set amount of allied damage before self destructing and damaging all enemies near by.

Thanks, As far as I know there is no team. There is only me throwing ideas out there as usual. Anyway after a 30 minute research period I actually managed to come up with the ten classes and 100 skills watching Hellboy on TV. Thankfully no Dwarf or Rangers etc in sight. I will post then over the coming days in this thread. Any one who wants to suggest, post there opinion or anything such as other skills for a class or amendments to a skill feel free.
You and I know a few thing
1) This is all just for something to talk about 2) A good area to spam your opinion to get to the crown. 3) No way on Earth will this game ever see the light of day, unless a game obsessed billionare stumbles on this forum and likes what he reads.
By the end of it though there should be a fleshed out idea here.
