Now, does anybody remember how this was done? There was some voting, but how was the nominees decided?
Does anybody want to take up the responsibility and arrange this?

In 2006 the players were nominated by the GM's + devs. The 4 players who received most votes then went into the finals and the winner was voted by the general public. In 2007 each guild voted for 3 players and the winner was the one who got most points (1st=5p, 2nd=3p and 3rd=1p, if memory serves).
