An idea for expansion but need the Devs permission

Hi All,

So first off is any one still in contact with the devs?

The reason I ask is this website https://www.gog.com/en/. This website sells games that are no longer available to buy, Please have a look. They also have a section were you can contact them and offer your game for sale. (Please read on before posting)
Anyway to my point. I know the we can't offer them Dawnspire to sell as the Devs no longer support the game and it might break all sorts of aggrements they had with that poor publisher. But I was thinking if the Devs gave us permission we could contact them and see if they wanted to offer the game to there customers for Free as some sort of bonus for buying X amount of games.

I know the game is already free but this would get us publicity and hopefully new members with a raft of new Players/servers. If Johan is ok with it we could even carry an add for them on the main site. Who nows what benifits we might get from this. Maybe none but it's worth a try.

What do you guys think?

if you want to get more people to this game, id prolly suggest going to gamer community sites and gameing forums, write a GOOD forum post about the game, explaining how you play and how you make a char, how you set up skills etc etc etc (you could make a guide with photos). prolly the fastest and the easiest way to get new peeps.

i kinda tried this at mmorpg.com forums and mortal online forums. no1 was really paying attention though. no reason to get unmotivated, but I wouldn't expect too much.

Mrm, not to be negative, but I fail to see the deal here. You mean something like this:

"Yes! Buy 5 games, and get DAWNSPIRE FOR FREE (it already is free but you don't know that stupid sod-ass)!!!!"

Well. People are stupid, it might well work. They might even buy five games just TO get dawnspire.

Spoke to dev-Jonatan, and he said that this would probably violate the rules they have set up with their publisher. He also meant that there would be need for some work from the devs, and that is not what they want to do at the moment. And if you buy a game and get another "for free", that free game isn't really for free and support can be expected from such a game... So, all in all: No from the devs. Sorry. / Pimp
