Nice one, Nightmare. That's some way to twist the meaning of a word. Anyway, I like Sparrisen's vision of an ideal world. It shows that he has a good heart or at least that he wants us to think so.
Or perhaps that I'd like to have a good heart in the ideal world? I don't believe anyone is perfect, but the continuous effort to get ever closer to that is the taste of life.
Had I accomplished my every single goal (which includes do become immortal, or "forever young" or nonaging) I'd want to become a paladin, even in the world we have today. The closest thing to it today I guess is a terrorist, which aint exactly the same thing :/
Anyhow, it's not in anyway meaningless, and of course I'm interested, which is why I made this post. I hardly believe that anyone's dreams of greatness includes taxes and a cubicle. Your ideal world actually reminds me of my brother's, knowing his mind, I gave him the choice of being either a:
Wizard/mage/sorcerer
or-
Scientist, Gadget maker, Spark, Inventor (like the dude who made Gizmoquack!)
He chose the mage, but with a lot of hesitation.
((Actually, as a really small kid I wanted to become a blacksmith, shaping my brother's inventions in metal form))
