GW requires much more teamplay, much more knowledge about your enemy. It also requires more members, since you can't play GvG with less then 8. They feel the same, but they're really different.
GW2 comes out when it's done. I'd say 2010, before or in summer.

Well in short GW is much more slower in tempo, the fights can last really long without anyone dying. Also it is less tactically oriented, the basic objective in GvG's is pretty simple compared to DS.
Not sure about requiring more teamplay though... It does require a lot of planning on how to build your team, but imo that's more because of the huge number of available skills and items to choose from, and not necessarily because other teams play so well together. But yeah it requires shitloads of knowledge to play well, I've played for 5 months now and probably only recognize half of all the skills for example.

No eikö se riitä, että yhdelle accountille annetaan kielteinen vastaus?

faith no more's epic was sorta good, but not worthy of it's name.
I'd say GW has lot's of similarities with DS. The pvp characters system allows you to skip the grinding, just like in ds and your character's build is based on 8 skills, again almost like ds. There's lots of round-based playmodes that allow you to jump straight into the action. And finally, teamplay really matters. It's only flaw is that the teams formed in GW often lack a common goal, (other than beating the crap out of your opponents.) and the teams that have goals are made crapheads who are full of themselves and their elitism. All in all, it's a good game, but the community is so big compared to ds, there's bound to be more annoying individuals.
Despite all my complaining, nothing beats a gvg match where the whole team works for a common goal, helping each other. If i had about 40€ of spare cash, i'd buy another copy of GW and join guild that gvg's every day.
