Hey Everyone, I just baught DS today and to my disapointment ive found that the master server is down permanently...but to my understanding i can still play on the community server. If anyone could help me out and tell me how to do this i would really appreciate it.

You've bought it? Like paid for it? Anyways, yes, you can play on the community server but there has to be someone hosting a server. You also need to download it. I might, just might, bother to dig it to you later. EDIT: Credit to Johan. |

I thought all shops had to stop selling dawnspire  . You should return it and get your money back, you can download it for free. |

Yeah it was on the shelf and it looked interesting...i was looking for something new...but at the time i didn't know that i could just download it for free. I don't think i can return it because I've already opened the box....store policy. Either way I still want to play the game, I'm just a little confused about how to go about it. I have to patch the game somehow and download the client I believe. So if anyone could help me with that again i would really appreciate it, and I hope to see you in game soon.

refer to the dawnspire community server read me: http://dawnspire.tinyrocket.se/forum/index.php/topic,66.0.html the link for the community is still broken (there's a new in this thread, though) but since you must have installed the original ds, the only thing you need to do is patch your client just like the read me instructs. good luck finding a server with a decent number of players online, i hate to say this, but you'll need it. |

19.00 DST (gametime). It's in the right upper corner on the mainpage and on the forum. If you can't make it to 19.00 I'm sure there will be at least one server running before/after.

If you need the patch, this one should work: http://dawnspire.tinyrocket.se/patch.zipWhen you try to start Dawnspire, if it says "can't patch" or "can't connect" or something, add " -launcher" in properties of the dawnspire.exe and to location. It should be something like "C:\Games\Dawnspire\Dawnspire.exe -launcher" Then just login with your forum account and password, and if there's a server up, go and play. Or you can play tutorial and practice. |

Or start your own server As for the game you bought take it back even if it's opened they have sold you a game that no longer exists in the eyes of the Developers. The real server that disc connects to is long dead. You should have no problem getting your cash back. Just don't tell em about the free version. |

Ok I downloaded the patch and just moved the file into my dawnspire folder, and now when I try to run the game I get this message. "Invalid PKG version, found 1.41, expected: 1.17 Possible corrupt installation, try reinstalling. Visit www.dawnspire.com for client download or contact support@silent-grove.com for e-mail support." Im using windows vista if that has anything to do with it...also how do i edit the .exe if need be. Oh I moved the 'Setting' XML document out of the system file and into the DS folder, and now the game starts but it still says v 1.27 in the bottom right hand corner and I still cant log in. Im determind to get this working heh... |

I'm on vista too, and game works (almost) fine for me. I remember having problems with the download though. Oh, and also, it asks for your e-mail but you're supposed to write your username.
Took me ages to ind that out.
