DS fan art

I was thinking recently of how could dawnspire attract newer members, or old members who have since left etc. In order to try and get fuller servers, more than just the standard 4 etc that usually join throughout day.

I spoke to johan about a possible fan art section etc in the forum, which could attract more attention. If johan can find some larger images of the current DS classes, or even if the small ones are needed to be used - I was thinking that I may be able to draw some of them.

Given that most search engines, such as google, have an image search section... It could bring more attention to the forums etc  - If there are more links found throughout the searching web etc etc.

For example, If someone searched shadowblade on google... there would be a mini-image of a fan-art picture... and a link to the dawnspire forum. This may just be ignored, Or someone may just think "hmm, this looks like a decent game, I may try this" etc. Thus bringing more attention to the game, and possibly a lot more players.

Before I actually start on anything, I was wondering what your views were on the idea. For example, If you think it will just be a waste of time and take up forum space etc... Then post that. If you think its a super idea, then post that. I would make a poll, But I can't  . Perhaps a moderator could do it for me? 

I spoke to some people today in-game, and persus suggested making a forum topic - So... here it is ^^.

Of course, I cannot guarantee that what I do will be absolutely amazing - But I'll do my best... and others are welcome to try and add to the "art collection" if you like. I will decide nearer to the time, if my pictures are good enough for me to have to put a water mark or logo over it .. to prevent ripping  ... Or maybe just a signature will suffice.

Let me know your ideas... Or likewise, If you have suggestions, improvements etc etc - which you don't want to post in this thread, PM me on the main site... as I hardly ever read the forum message section

That's not really what I meant. It looks like its a photoshop of an actual game screenshot. I was referring to fan-art which was either hand-drawn or computer-drawn from scratch to produce their own artwork etc... which could be collected in the forum etc.

Btw, What does /thread mean?

This is more like what I was getting at. Hullu, your picture was just a editted screenshot... I was talking about drawn pictures, or those which are "abnormal" ... if that's the way to describe it.

A screenshot wasn't what this thread was about, but thanks for the picture anyway... And if you want me to shut up - Just dont post in this thread... coz I would still like to know other's opinions... compared to just your link and then "/thread" - Which I assume is meaning close or end of thread.

It can't hurt I just worry about Johans storage. picture threads take up a fair bit of space if the run for long. I think Hullu's pic is art just of a different sort. It's modern art (spits). In the end anything would be nice. Would be interesting to see how playing the game has shaped players ideas. That Seeker image should have been the box cover. far more expressive than the green European one with the slash marks or the American one with the group shot.

Another thing that would help is to try and write a review of the game on review websites and let people know it is now free to play. I wrote a small one on metacritic a few months back. Ok they may never be read but an internet full of information on the game has got to stand a better chance than one without.

Could using external image sites, For example imageshack, help? ... If you don't use the IMG function, and therefore just a URL? ... Except I dont know if search engines would pick up on the images, if they were url's

It's not drawing a picture from it  . It's using photoshop, or something similar, to edit the picture/add an effect to it.

I never said it wasn't a picture, I said that it was like a screenshot and that wasn't what this topic was about. Now please stop going on about it!
