Hi! I am now running PimpMyServer on a new machine. It is based on a Intel Atom dual core 1.6 GHz, and with a wireless (/n) connection so we'll see how it works. Please give me feedback here if your connection is as bad as it always has been, or if it is even worse. If it works out ok, I can probably run this 24/7. / Pimp

Hi Pimp, Firstly thanks for all the hosting in the past - just tried the new server had some ok games and some laggy ones. My general internet connection was ok (4mb downlod 0.5 mb upload per speed test). Average ping was 93 ms but peaked at 350 ms. Hope the above helps. Eitherway keep hosting & thanks  /Warlock |

Good info. Thanks. I notice some lagspikes now and then. The game freezes for a few secs, and then it flows again. I don't have any "normal" lag since I am sitting on the same router. I think the spikes are due to the wireless connection, I'll see what I can do about that. I will also try to run the server from the commandline - perhaps some load will be taken off the CPU that way, I don't know. More comments are welcome!  Pimp |

The server is now up on a 24h basis. There are issues in the form of lagspikes for up to 5 secs perhaps once / game or even more. This is due to the WiFi-connection, and I am looking in to it. If you prefer a server which is up now and then like before, but without the spikes, let me know. / Pimp

Firstly, thanks for the hosting. Especially a 24hr basis - since a permanent server was needed for a long time. Secondly, i dont know if it is just your server (because i havnt been able to try any others). But i seem to get caught in a loading loop when i try to join your server. It loads a map up to 100%, and then says "requesting to join game"... and starts loading the same map again. It does this over and over... and doesn't stop unless i manually stop it. I dont think its a firewall problem, but am open to suggestions. Can anyone shed some light on this?  |

Just checked, and it seems to just be with your server pimp  . I could join the server "realm of the old ones". But I get caught in a loading loop when i try to join pimp my server. I haven't tried longer than 5 map loadings, because i got bored. So i don't know if it will eventually connect. But does anyone know what this problem may be? |

I was in the last game and you actually joined the game for a few seconds at the server end then left. When game was over I left and the server said there were 12 of 12 people playing when in fact there was only 3 off us. Each of Ghost's attempts to connect must be adding to the number. From my point of view my ping has risen from 94 to 145/175 and strangely my frame rate has increased by 10 fps. I didn't get any lag in a game with 3 players and that is from the uk.

How can it add me to the game, if it never gets past the loading screen? The game runs fine on realm of the old ones. But i cant join pimp my server for some reason. Well, according to persus i can - i just cant see it. Does anyone know what this problem is or how to fix it?

Pimp, Obvious lag seems to have gone but have noticed the game becoming jerky and my char freezing for periods. Ping appears ok and then everything back to normal for a few mins and so on. Could be lag but might be some service running on your server impacting performance? Have you tried Game booster http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html or tune up utilities which offers a turbo mode and switches off unneeded services etc? |

It is probably just wireless connection having some packet loss. Dawnspire doesn't handle packet loss too well. This is a known thing, there's been a couple of reports of problems with wireless before. I'm not sure there's much that can be done about this.
Of course, making sure the signal level is as high as possible should reduce the frequency of problems, but won't probably totally eliminate them.

That could make sense, since im running off a wireless connection. It seemed that after 2/3 days of not being able to join... I could just randomly join again. I tried yesterday, and could connect. So it seems whatever it was has gone for now. Thanks to those who offered suggestions and explanations  |
