I believe its time to select this years community recognized player of the year.
In my opinion this years selection, like last year when we selected Johan, is a no brainer. I would like to nominate Pimp for rounding up and maintaining a 24-7 server, being a great and active player, and being a generally over the top good guy. There are probably better players, Myrmox comes to mind, but I can think of noone who has done more for the community than Pimp.
Any additional nominations, or does Pimp win without a challenge?

Actually I think Smisk should win, just because he didn't win on those two years when it mattered which I feel is great injustice ( almost as great injustice is that I didn't win in 2007  ) |

@Nightmare: Then you ought to have the award as well...  @Faro: I am not always that nice. The other day I led three bots astray accompanied by Ghost's high pitched protests... But your nomination does put a great pressure on me to keep the server up.  I nominate two players... - Myrmox: He is the best player around these days. No one beats him when it comes to playing ALL classes on top notch level. And he has also contributed a lot to the community, both with much hosting and keeping this forum alive. - Faro: He is almost always around playing this game, and he does it really, really good. I haven't checked, but my guess is that he has more playing time than any two of us combined. And he is ALWAYS nice and unselfish playing the game and helping new players. Having Faro on my side in a game gives me that comfy, fuzzy feeling of well being. Edit: Oh, I missed the fine print (as in my insurance policy). Then there are two votes for you Nightgown...   /Pimp |

Yeah, wtf? Thanks but I Would like to respectfully remove my name from consideration. I play alot, but not as well as others. I agree with Pimp, Myrmox is the best player in all classes, but Pimp still has the edge because without his server the game would be dead(er).
Nightgown, I like that.

From a purely player point of view it has to be Faro for me as he plays by far more than most of the rest of the top 100 put together. Myrmox I agree is a great overall player but Faro edges it for me for the reason given above.
From a community point of view it has to be between Pimp and Myrmox for there servers over the past months and during the community events recently. Sadly so far the 24/7 server hasn't had the desired effect on getting players back into the game (yet).
So I say
Faro
then
Pimp/Myrmox.

Players of the Year are obviously those that kept it alive. Hosting Servers, and populating them.

Another reason to make Faro player of the year is the fact he will be the only player with a crown by the end of the year, an achievment in it's self.
