This way all kind of things are taken into account: Leadership, communication within your team, helping noobs, etc etc, and you get things from two perspectives, the enemy's, and yours.
This will reward the players which you most appreciate to play alongside with, and hopefully, encourage them to stay, while lol-faces gets encouragement either to improve, or, fuck off.
Wouldn't people either vote for themselves, not know how to vote, or simply vote for their friends?

Sparrisens suggestion is fully dependent on the maturity of the participants. Being an internet community does not help, but if there ever was one it would be this one.
I know that the wish-list for a revised rating system might just as well be stamped off to Santa Claus c/o The North pole, but IF I were to send it IŽd include "yards running with relics (in the right direction ofc)", "remove death-penalty when carrying relics" and "number of time extensions (when on the loosing team ofc)" to the list.
Or maybe more medals might be "constructed" to fill these gaps. Like "Enterprise, Silver - 500 outposts captured (Next: 1000 outposts captured, achieved in 318 captures)" or maybe "Desperation, Bronze - 50 time extensions (Next: 250 time extensions, achieved in 23 extensions)" etc. Might push a few newcomers into teamplay, even if getting medals for it might be considered by some to be for the wrong reasons.

I like Sparr's suggestion except for the fact that democracy has never worked. I mean, look at our society. Is it good? No. Why? Because we made it so... by voting.

So you're saying that you think the voting system would be worse than what we currently have.

In game yes as Ghost says it's far to open to abuse by players voting for friends etc. Better to keep such things Similar to they are at present though heavily modified to make a fairer system.

not yet And although we have still had a fair few people most of the month I feel numbers are starting to fall back slightly. I have gone to the 2 main youtube videos that are still being watched and have tried to guide people here in the comments section.

Of all the shitty political systems democracy is still the best.

I'll probably send the newsletter tomorrow if I have enough free time. But i will most likely convert it to a text version as that would take less bandwith.

Today we (I) witnessed our first pro returning after the newsletter. It can now be officially declared as a success (unless he's never seen again ).
