I'm going to remove the Critical strike complitely, which was extremely bugged anyways. Easies my job.

All skill changes were reverted but backed up for furter use.

Removing prowler -
This Ill attempt to build like this. The one who sets up the server has the possibility to choose or not to choose have prowlers playable in his games.

Attempting to really fix some things.
See the other topic for suggestions which you may give and point out.

I think this is a nonsense removing the prowler from the game. I would suggest maybe seeing if you can limit the amount of prowlers allowed in any given game. Same with SB's if you feel you have to do something.

bots are generally more helpful than the standard prowler. Not saying a good prowler aren't helpful, but... few are good

But I guess this applies to most classes, I mean, if you're a sucky player and you play reaver, you still suck. You just don't look like a pansy coward while doing so.

I still believe deleting or banning a class out right because some don't like it is wrong. It not only pushes away player who like to play this class it also cuts down the number of classes any player can play. As I have stated above and before either

1) Introduce a numbers cap on a server for these or all classes. This way we might end up with more even sides as regards classes.

2) Reintroduce the original measure of having to play for a set number of hours before you can access this class . It was originally 100 hours. Make it 5/10 hours.

3) leave it alone and suck it up and concentrate on the bot AI. By far the most important aspect needing fixed, followed by the team balancing mechanic.

A lot of you were not here over the lean months of January and February when it was bots and only bots to play against.

If the stats wouldn't benefit from fragging so much, there would be much fewer SB's and Prowlers around. It is excellent to play with a good SB or Prowler on the field (either on your team or the oppisition), because those classes have so much potential.

When you see a single SB able to tie down 3+ opponents to defend an OP or a relic, you know you are looking at a master; when you see a SB focusing on fragging you know you will win this game (even though it sucks to die repeadetly). Same with Prowler, when a prowler does his best for his team (running relics, support the witch and templar by pushing and slowing opponents going for them (and there *will* be opponents going for them), you know that side is pretty close to winning by default. Sadly neither of those behaviours are a good thing if one wants to get high on the charts with minimal effort (who likes thinking anyway? and besides, I want my kills now, not over several games, damnit) Wink

Anyway, I would think outright banning the prowler is not the good thing to do. If however things like Suppressive Fire, Entangle and Multishot would give (more) support rating when there are friendlies in the area, I would think quite a few more Prowlers would be interested in using those skills to help their friends; dunno how hard (or impossible) it would be to code something like that though. Still, even those "bad" Prowlers would then most likely be much more useful for their team Smiley

One more I have always advocated is turning the Shrine domination maps into relic conquest maps if at all possible. Skills can wait in my opinion if they need touched at all. I would still like to see the work you have done with regards skills but ultimately for me it's the big three

@Santa Swiss:

1) Change the skill setup for the default characters. Those builds which are present are... bad. SB could be the Mooo build, Templar the Nightmare build etc. This would make a lot of difference for the new ones - they wouldn't be running around with heroism and no cure...

2) Start the class options with Reaver, Templar and Seeker. After 10 h (?) or so of playtime, unlock the other classes. That way new people can do some work for the team, and they would have something to look forward to (while getting hooked on the game).

3) Improve bot-AI. Here you have already done some serious work, which I would really like to see implemented.

4) New maps. If we make the community to build maps it would be awsome. I know this is very difficult, but that would make a hell of a difference. I can probably get my brother to set the sound effects if I bribe him properly.

Looking forward to Christmas... Smiley / Pimp

Alternatively, A limit that takes into account relic captures, or support rating could do the trick. If people need to get certain relic captures or support ratings to unlock new classes in the game, it will encourage them to focus on playing with the team and how to win the game, rather than simply killing which most games out there are like (which I think it probably why most of the new guys just kill).

This would both encourage them to play as a team and how dawnspire is played, and also give them something to look forward to for capturing relics etc - as they can unlock new classes.

So with regards to the conversion of the Shrine domination maps to relic maps I tinkered as I do and put together a rough of were things would go to make these maps work. All that needs done now is the real work.

I've played this one as a SD...
http://i44.tinypic.com/2yobw8z.jpg

It's a good map, so it would be one hell of a playing site for a RC game. Especially seeing as though the op's are close enough to get a witches diplace across the gap in the middle (which could spice things up).

I know you altered The dam map to create the excellent footie map played in the tutorial area. What I was talking about was actually creating an RC map within the dam map itself. It requires someone more skilled than I though.

l2r Wink.

No but seriosly, I'm not talking about a football map or anything but an actual SD to RC conversion which I made some time ago to see if it's possible.
