Hey!

As I've been learning different variables of coding languages, it occured to me; I'm able to do something about DS. First I started some "own" fun messing around doing the game more random, which I realised after the comments.

Now I'd like to hear about suggestions that you have / wish to be tested.

I already have some ideas which I will be testing randomly.
For instance;
Attempting to improve shadowstep ability;
*Option: When you use shadowstep ability and you click furter than shadowstep reaches it will / will not continue the movement.

Possibly improved WASD movement. I got no idea how, but this just popped into my mind.

Improve movement near collisioned obstacles, such as fences which may "stop" your movement complitely.

Etc. I got couple more ideas in my sleaves.
Throw yours in, please.

there is a possibility to import code directly into the librarys and then import them as snitches. This way "fixing/Patching" the game

If you can fix some of the collision bugs in the game, that would be great. Certain walls/rocks etc are only partly recognised as collisions. So you can walk 1/2 way through a rock, for example. This includes the "secret" areas that sb's can jump to because certain areas are still recognised as walkable floor (even under water in some cases). Although these are fun to find, they are inevitably useless in the game (apart from hiding and saying look at me  Cheesy). The rock and wall collisions are a pain though. Firstly, they are annoying if you are trying to target someone within.... but secondly, someone was dumping relics in the wall bug on dellwater (to which I told johan about) - so getting rid of these will be an improvement.

One bug I have found that could do with fixing is involving the prowler standard shot. For some reason, after it is fired... it will follow a shadowbound into meld (where a normal attack would miss). This happens sometimes even when the shot is fired at the same time as the shadowblade enters meld (so no distance was traveled by the shot... but still it hits). I don't know why it happens exactly.

You may be interested in knowing that I found a code in the game, which I informed Johan about. I only found 3 functions/commands to it... which are only on the user's side really. There is one I found that closes the game for some reason.... (found by accident lol).

Then there were two other commands that can alter text. I'll be generous and share my secret, but I hold all discovery rights ... and if anyone goes "oh yeah I found this" - It was me first lol.

Basically, when you go to type something in game....  Type "|"  ... incase you don't know how to... press the "shift" + "\" keys. If you found the right one, you shouldn't see any character has been entered... but IT IS there. Then, type the following for which ever you want:

1)     c        ---- This will close the game window completely. I think its a fail safe if something messes up with your game and the menu breaks etc. But typing |c   will close your game.
2)     r         ---- This will turn your writing white, like the game action messages for example: "Doombringer was killed by Ghost using Skill"  Grin.
3)     n        ---- This will move your text onto the next line (hense why it is n). This may be useful as the code can be entered 'mid-text' - meaning that sometimes when you write a lot of text, it cuts off parts. If you want to avoid this, you can start writing on the next line.

So incase those instructions were unclear... this is an example of what you would type when you open up the console.

/say |r I'm writing in white.

It is as easy as that. I havn't found any other commands, than the three listed above. But I know there is a way to make the text start writing behind your name.... I don't know how yet, but im looking into it.

Amazing. I guess my testicles knew about all this from the get-go, since they're omniscient. Therefor, I vote my testicles get into the hall of fame, for all eternity.

I am sparticus! No wait I found this first! Actually I didn't find it but I thought I would join in.

To be truthful I want to see the AI improvements at the top of the list. Everything else I have learned to live with so aren't a top priority for me. But it's your time and effort. I remember along time ago you did mention a new class that was part of the redundant animation/artwork within the game that would be cool to see. There must be far more of it in their if the Youtube alpha was anything to go by unless it was removed prior to release.

Hub improvments would be nice such as making the radar map in the bottom right bigger by about 50% would save using the main map all the time.

If someone could upload the skill icons/class icon/class description etc etc as to what this new class is, that would be awesome. I'd rather not unpack all the files to try and find it if someone has already done so.  Wink

It was only a one line mention in a post last year something along the lines of a grelick or something. I don't think it was ever developed fully.

I donīt know if changing the models is within your capability, but I always wanted the teams to look more different. I also remember alot of newcomers asking for (visual) customization of characters. Some kind of "grinding-system" for those has been adressed before as a means to keep the servers filled, as well as having the advantage of not giving grinders actual in-game advantages (which some of them also asks about). It is a humongous project, Iīm sure.

Other than that, I wonder if its possible to raise the player caps to, say 10v10. Sure, filling those woudnīt be easy, and there might be some lag, but Iīm kinda curious as to how Dsp scales up. And it doesnīt sound too laborious either.

Do the dawnspire files contain the classes on a model/texture basis? ... as I can edit textures quite easily, but not so good with the 3d models themselves. I know that the dawnspire files themselves are done with a program developed by the programmer himself/herself? ... so it might be hard to edit the classes without it (due to compatability issues).

An idea for the customization thing though:
If you can get the classes to work on a texture/model basis and from the user side, players can edit the files on their own computer and change the colours of the characters etc to their choosing (a few selections would probably be a good idea). I assume that nobody else would be able to see their colour scheme... but I don't know if the machienes could communicate to each other so everyone's character looks like how they've set it up to everyone else on the server.

Like I said, I can edit the textures if you want different colours etc... but only really if its done seperately to the model file. Having both the meshes and textures combined in a file is going too far for me lol. Cheesy

I had a server up where classes did look different. Dawnspire prelude includes some of their old model edits which can be used for this.
